Wa’ed Network began as a safe listening space for adolescent girls, created to understand their realities, needs, and priorities. It gradually evolved into a continuing pathway for learning, expression, trust-building, and safe participation. Established under Sheba Youth Foundation for Development, with early support and partnership from Karama Network, Wa’ed has become one of the Foundation’s core pathways for working with adolescent girls in Yemen.
The Youth Platform for Peacebuilding is a national youth platform that Sheba Youth Foundation for Development helped establish under Al-Bawsalah Programme, with support from Save the Children - MEEE. The platform brought together sixteen youth-led organizations from across Yemen’s governorates to strengthen the active role of young women and men in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and local and community peace efforts.
The Youth Support Group (YSG) was formed in October 2021 under Sheba Youth Foundation for Development, with support from Save the Children - MEEE, as a coalition of six youth coalitions. It aims to unify youth voices around peacebuilding and political participation in Yemen. The group has advocated for meaningful youth engagement in peace processes, including discussions related to the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, and has produced analytical and policy papers on youth participation in peace and political processes.

The Political Parties Youth Alliance was launched with support from the National Democratic Institute (NDI) to strengthen youth political engagement across partisan lines. Sheba Youth Foundation for Development later contributed to nurturing and developing the alliance, supporting young women and men from political parties in dialogue, negotiation, political leadership, and conflict management, and helping strengthen youth participation in civic life and more inclusive decision-making.
Siraj Platform emerged as an output of the Combatting Information Disorder Project, implemented by Sheba Youth Foundation for Development in cooperation with SecDev Foundation. The platform focuses on countering rumours, false news, and misleading information, as part of the Foundation’s work on digital awareness, critical thinking, and responsible participation in the public sphere, especially in contexts where misinformation affects social trust and peace.
The Rural Peace Forum is an emerging local space designed to amplify rural women’s voices in peacebuilding and community participation. In partnership with Oxfam and with support from DANIDA, Sheba Youth Foundation for Development accompanied rural women through a gradual pathway from learning and confidence-building to dialogue with local authorities and political leaders at district and governorate levels, and later engagement with national-level officials.
The Cultural Council for Arts and Literature in Taiz was launched as an initiative under Sheba Youth Foundation for Development, serving as a coordination space that brings together cultural, artistic, and heritage actors within a more organized framework for coordination, representation, and networking. The council responds to Taiz’s rich cultural landscape and the need for stronger institutional coordination and visibility, aiming to support cultural governance and strengthen the role of culture in peace and community identity.
